Apple increased it’s stake in Imagination Technologies, the UK company responsible for the PowerVR graphics chips in the iPhone and iPod touch to 9.5%, following Intel’s own increase to 16%. Many believe the goal is for Apple and Intel to secure easy access to the chips in the future, although the company has received calls of some concern relating to their commitment to other projects.
